The Best Terroir in Uruguay
Do you know that you can relax your muscles with wine?
Not in a self-medicating type of way but by traveling to Uruguay to the Bodega Garzon winery.
It's the newish travel trend, known as agritourism. According to Saveur magazine, Bodega Garzon has "arguably the best terroir in all of Uruguay."
Few Americans travel to Uruguay, even though it's "the most prosperous, peaceful, and democratic country in South America."
Relax Your Muscles in Uruguay
Known for their granite soil and Atlantic breeze, the Bodega Garzon winery is set up as a part of Agroland.
It is an estate where you can ride hot air balloons and tour the farm in horse drawn stagecoaches.
They also have estate produced olive oils sold at Dean & Deluca in the US.
The winery is situated in the small town of Garzon, also home to a restaurant opened by Francis Mallman, one of the most renowned chefs in South America known for pioneering Patagonian cuisine.
Pair Albarino with Asian Food
Albarino matches quite nicely with Asian food. It is high in acidity and low in alcohol.
It particularly matches Thai food for its notes of lemongrass and Thai Basil, much like Petit Manseng.

It seems everyone wants to write about Tannat. I applaud you for taking up the Albarino mantle. Very nice post!
asiantestkitchen@gmail.com says
Aww, thanks Steven. (It may be partly due to Tannat being a slightly more difficult pair with Asian food, just between you and me, shhh!) 🙂
